Our minds can play tricks on us, and it’s hard to know what’s right sometimes. Listening to our closest friends and family’s opinions can even make things more overwhelming. As I come from a multicultural background, I know how it feels to have each foot in a different world and how easy it can be to get lost somewhere in the middle. Having a safe and supportive space to make sense of it all can offer you an essential pause to help you reset and reconnect with yourself.

As an associate clinical social worker with fifteen years of experience, I bring a trauma-informed, strengths-based perspective to help clients feel more empowered and confident. I understand adverse childhood experiences and complicated family systems and how many of us live in unseen realities, causing a mismatch between our internal and external worlds. These can have a profound impact on our personalities, relationships, and outlooks on life. I strive to hear and see clients in a way that builds self-esteem, self-acceptance, motivation, and daily functioning skills. I draw primarily from the modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help you gain control of your thoughts and emotions and improve your quality of life. I incorporate mindfulness and teach coping skills for emotional regulation and calm.

My practice is inclusive and welcoming to individuals of all ages and backgrounds. My graduate education focused predominantly on work with youth and families. I am also a certified parent educator and have experience with co-parenting challenges. My life experiences have brought the most wisdom in the areas of trauma recovery, rewriting personal narrative, unlearning dysfunctional communication styles, and learning how to self-soothe. I can help you and your family find new ways of relating to each other and communicating your needs in more harmonious ways. For individuals in transition, I help draw out your internal wisdom and support you making choices that improve your self esteem. You are resilient and capable of making the changes you want for yourself. It will be a privilege to serve as your support.

The values of diversity, equity, and inclusion have always been my priorities, and my belief in the universality of humanity comes through in my work. Let’s learn to be gentle and forgiving with ourselves and foster a positive and hopeful outlook. Let’s work together to develop new and effective coping strategies that make you feel in control and help make the future less daunting. You can do this!

I look forward to exploring with you the way you make meaning of the moments of your life. I am eager to meet you!
